Flex-Tuned Maple Through extensive drum development, INDe has designed a shell that is "low mass, highly elastic, horizontally stiff, and vertically flexible." Three thick horizontal plies are used to ensure horizontal rigidity. Meanwhile, two thin vertical plies are used to maintain the shell's flexibility. This combination creates an extremely thin and lightweight five-ply maple shell, which allows the head and shell to resonate well, producing a clean, natural sound. Other features include a "Roundover Bearing Edge" that maximizes the shell's characteristics and appeals to aspects such as stick touch, and INDe's original patented "Infinite Snare Bed" that expands the tuning range and increases the sensitivity of the snare wire. The hardware also includes INDe's original lugs, which are low-mass and have a very sexy design, and the industry's best strainer, the "SB1," which is lightweight, reliable, and beautiful.
