That's "VNL". ◆Features of VNL, the definitive version for the 21st century Designed to be the definitive 21st-century DJ cartridge, the VNL is the culmination of Ortofon's wisdom, skillfully combining 100 years of tradition with the latest technology. The cantilever is made of highly reliable and proven high-rigidity aluminum, and the stylus is a round stylus that is less susceptible to settings or disc conditions. The stylus is manufactured using cutting-edge, fully automated robotic assembly, further enhancing the uniform precision of an industrially manufactured product. Furthermore, the cartridge body is assembled using ultrasonic welding in various locations, enhancing the body's rigidity, reducing weight, and integrating the materials. The damper rubber that supports the cantilever was specially designed for the VNL. Developing a dedicated damper is essential to prevent stylus jump and maintain high tracking performance during playback. For this reason, Ortofon manufactures its dampers entirely in-house and maintains extremely strict quality control. The newly designed housing embodies Ortofon's renowned thick, powerful sound while meeting the requirements of high stylus position visibility during DJ performance, resulting in a simple yet modern look. Furthermore, the housing features through-hole screw holes for easy mounting to various headshells and tonearms, allowing for easy fine-tuning. The lightweight unit weighs just 6.5g, allowing it to be used with tonearms designed for lighter cartridges. The VNL is also rigid enough to withstand hard scratches and backspins, while delivering excellent tracking performance with both DVS and standard vinyl. The unit's round stylus tip minimizes vinyl wear during scratching and backcueing. ◆ "STYLUS VNL" that can be selected according to your play style The VNL offers three replacement styluses, each with different damper and suspension softness and feel. This addition was made in response to strong requests from turntablists. As turntablists' playing styles vary widely, the optimum suspension softness for preventing stylus jump varies from player to player. From these numerous options, three were selected: "Stylus VNLI," "Stylus VNL II," and "Stylus VNL III." "I" is the softest, with higher numbers indicating stiffer styluses. Similarly, the tone also becomes sharper as the number increases, allowing you to instantly customize the tone to suit the record or scene. Ortofon's new DJ cartridge style offers a high degree of expressive freedom, allowing you to freely change styluses to suit your DJ style, purpose, and sensory preferences.
