The solid yet powerful sound that comes from the technical skills cultivated in making archtop guitars is a must-listen. The slim, rounded hard maple neck and fingerboard are combined in a simple bolt-on structure, but the slightly deep cutaway and gently arched top surface assert that this is a simple and functional instrument unique to the S-Series. The stiffness of the 1st string side, which is prone to warping and twisting due to the long tension from the nut to the tuning peg, is eliminated by increasing the thickness of the 1st string side up to the center of the headstock logo. The headstock flex caused by the string tension at the headstock is also uniform for each string, improving balance of headstock resonance.
