Material The Sound Transformer (Trumpet/Wah-Wah) is made from three different materials: aluminum, copper, and brass. The sound changes depending on the physical properties of each metal. Aluminum is a light and soft material, so it produces a light, bright and brilliant sound. Copper has a high specific gravity and is relatively soft, resulting in a rich, dark sound. Brass has a specific gravity similar to that of copper and is a sturdy material, so it is characterized by a bright, rich sound with a moderate weight. Pitch The so-called Harman mute (used with the wah-wah tube removed) produces a noticeable rise in pitch.
