Jay Rocket Audio Designs, a high-end effects brand from California, USA, has released the Archer Select, a boost/overdrive pedal equipped with seven clipping diodes. The Archer Select features seven clipping diodes (OA10, 1N270, 1N695, 1N34A, D9B, D9E, and RED LED), including the three used by Archer, Archer Icon, and The Jeff Archer, plus four additional types including light-emitting diodes. The clipping control and clipping footswitch allow you to select the appropriate clipping diode. While the controls are simple, with only gain and treble controls for distortion adjustment, switching between clipping diodes allows you to create a wide variety of K-style tones, from boost to stack drive. The guitar input, output, and power input terminals are located on the back, and there is a DI output terminal on the left side. The DI output has a built-in DI speaker simulator based on a British 4x12 cabinet. It can be used for a variety of purposes, such as outputting directly to a mixer or connecting to an external interface for direct recording. Like the existing Archer, it has a durable metal housing and is extremely compact. It requires only a power supply (sold separately). ●Six diodes can be selected with clipping control. The standard diode when the clipping footswitch is off is an OA10. The clipping controls are ordered from left to right from low to high output diodes.
