With two modes, EQ and OD, the DCX Bass offers a wide range of gain, from clean boost and subtle coloration to almost fuzz-like tones reminiscent of overloading a retro recording console, all with the ability to stay completely flat across the frequency spectrum, just like a good recording preamp. In EQ mode, an adaptive circuit keeps the top-end response completely flat for clean tones while increasing the subtle treble roll-off as you start to overdrive. This works in response to your playing dynamics and changes in your guitar's volume knob, seamlessly transitioning between warm overdriven tones and sparkling cleans. In OD mode, this top-end roll-off is always active, regardless of signal level or playing dynamics. The VOICE switch allows you to select from three different amounts of treble roll-off, allowing you to fine-tune the DCX Bass response. The LF and HF knobs provide precise control over the low and high frequencies in an EQ designed specifically for bass guitar. These controls are specifically designed to provide powerful EQ shaping without sacrificing low-end clarity or overemphasizing high-frequency harmonics.
