Introducing the Matt Halpern Signature Crashride from the Byzance Dark Series! The Double Down Crash Ride, a signature model by Matt Halpern, drummer for the progressive metal band Periphery, is now available in the Byzance Dark Series. This is his second signature model, a versatile and dynamic hand-hammered cymbal that can function as either a ride or crash when needed, and also features a powerful, cutting bell sound. The size is set to 21 inches, and the front side has a [Dark] finish that is intentionally not razed, and is also lightly sandblasted. The rear is razed for a unique harmonic blend, sustain control, and a quick decay. Like the AC-DOUBLEDOWN, the Crash Ride features the Periphery logo on the front. "We needed a very dynamic cymbal that had enough volume to cut through the intensity of the Periphery sound, but also had a quick decay that wouldn't overwhelm vocals or other instruments in a live performance.
