The Emerald Compressor is a pedal compressor that specializes in simple operability. The Emerald Compressor is an optical compressor directly descended from the highly popular Risa Compressor, which has since been discontinued.It combines intuitive operability with high-quality, low-noise sound, combining all the elements a player needs in their live performance. Conventional parameters such as attack and release are preset to optimized values, so even those without specialized knowledge of compressors won't get lost. The greatest feature is that you can intuitively determine the settings by simply using the left knob to determine the compression threshold and the right knob to adjust the output level. The compression circuit is an optical type using a classic CdS photocoupler. While optical types are generally considered to have a soft, natural compression curve, this unit uses a photocoupler with a fast release time, providing extremely fast response and handling even the most demanding playing styles. It's suitable for pizzicato, pick, and slap playing. With the Compressor set to minimum, it functions as a complete buffer amplifier, outputting the input signal as is. You can also turn off compression and use it as a clean booster. As an optional feature, the gain of the output amplifier can be changed using the trimmer inside the enclosure. Increasing the gain will add more saturated distortion.
