Well, this is a fascinating and very avant garde fabric! A recent arrival from Italy, this ottoman rib-textured woven needs some explanation: It is a medium-heavy weight woven with distinctive ribs, almost like pintucks, running vertically on the fabric to create a highly textured surface. The back is textured also, although not quite as much. It does have 4-way stretch, but the majority of the stretch is in the LENGTH (20% widthwise, 80% lengthwise). It is very stable though, so you can cut your garment with the ribs going in either direction. The coloring is very interesting, with black in the recessed areas and a very dark brown at the top ridge of each rib, creating a Turkish coffee coloring (PANTONE 19-0614-ish). Make a super edgy and fashion forward jacket or topper coat, fitted skirt, etc. Keep the design simple, perhaps combining with a softer knit for sleeves and other details.
