The Ignitor with Gasket inside of your Pentair® MasterTemp® or Max-E-Therm® Pool & Spa Heater is designed to ignite the gas running through your MasterTemp® or Max-E-Therm® in orde r to create a flame and heat the your pool water. It is recommended that you visually inspect the Igniter on your Pentair® MasterTemp® or Max-E-Therm® before turning it on at the beginning of every season, because this is an extremely fragile part of your heater that may become damaged or broken over time and need to be replaced. Keep your Pentair® MasterTemp® or Max-E-Therm® Pool and Spa heater working the way it should by replacing defective parts whenever necessary.
