Insane and versatile. An octave destroyer that will send the venue into a frenzy. The long-awaited Octave Clang from Death By Audio's all-time lineup returns with a turbocharged return! The V2 retains the original circuitry but refines it further: more ferocious, menacing, thunderous, and as usable as possible for the modern musician. Insane and versatile, with teeth-gnashing, dissonant ring modulation, gut-busting octave slicing, and earth-shattering distortion all within easy reach, the resurrected Octave Clang is ready to rip your signal to shreds. The original Octave Clang captivated everyone from strict touring musicians to all-out punk rockers with its unique and unconventional tone, and while it was undoubtedly a success, many users found it difficult to master. Death By Audio has revived the Octave Clang after a decade and a half. A pseudo-ring modulation/distortion/noise/octave pedal, Octave Clang derives its unusual tone from a specially sourced transformer (the exact source is a top secret!) and precisely matched diodes. It combines two out-of-phase, half-wave rectified copies of the original signal, resulting in "highly destructive harmonics" and "pure, fully analog octave-up." The octave is generated in a completely analog way, creating a classical and psychedelic feel when playing single note phrases, while the signal "messes and twists" when playing chords or complex passages, resulting in a tone that is extremely organic, beautiful, and chaotic. The V2 version has evolved to better suit modern styles. An octave footswitch has been added, allowing players to fully utilize the pedal with or without ring modulation. The expanded Tilt EQ is placed pre-gain, allowing for flexible octave shaping. Gain has also been increased to a maximum of +39dB boost, and the internal bias control allows for the ultimate in gritty, unsettling tones. Death By Audio's signature meticulous madness. Use it as the ultimate distortion pedal with an octave off, or kick up the octave and send the venue into chaos.Dimensions: 127 x 100 x 66 mm Weight: 326g Powered by 9VDC center negative or a 9V battery.
