The ESP Custom Lab Finger Rest is a custom part for bass that supports stable fingerpicking. It has a concept and performance that sets it apart from conventional block-shaped finger rests. The installation position is a matter of preference, but installing it so that it is spaced evenly with the string spacing will give you the best performance. The screws are designed to face the player, but you can also install them the other way around if you prefer. We recommend temporarily fixing it with double-sided tape before fastening it with screws. Be sure to drill pilot holes for the mounting screws (appropriate drill diameter: 2.3 mm, depth: 8 mm). Forcing the screws in can damage the instrument. The finger rest is L-shaped to perfectly simulate the feeling of placing your thumb on the bass strings. The smooth finish on the top allows for comfortable use. By placing your thumb on the screw receiving part, your finger position is raised and your thumb can move smoothly. You can also install the finger rest in the opposite direction if you prefer. After hitting the lowest string, the index and middle fingers stop on the finger rest, just like in the apoyando technique, making it easy to play fast passages and rhythmic phrases.
