This is a conversion cable for connecting the main output of a preamplifier such as a Marine Blender to a balanced input audio device such as a mixer. The plug contains a resistor that reduces Blender's reference output level by approximately 20dB. This allows Blender to be connected to mixers that only have microphone inputs. In addition, since it is a balanced transmission, it is resistant to external noise on the cable, and can be used without any problems even if you connect a microphone cable or the like to the XLR side to extend it.
