The FD2 has been a huge hit since its release in 1993, and the Full-Drive3 is the ultimate overdrive boost pedal that continues to evolve from the original. It offers a more evolved, natural sound and a wide range of tones from clean to distorted. Unlike its siblings, the FD3 uses both a JFET input and a JFET op-amp, giving you the most tube-like sound you can get from a tubeless pedal. The JFET also gives the FD3 an ultra-high input impedance, allowing the pedal to be compatible with any pickup type/gain and responds extremely well to changes in your guitar's volume control. Equipped with a 3-way CLIPPING toggle switch, it allows you to switch between the smooth, symmetrical clipping of the familiar 1990s FD2, and the aggressive boost of pure op-amp overdrive with ample midrange, sweet highs and lows, and finely textured harmonics. The OVERDRIVE and BOOST channels are completely independent. The ORDER toggle switch allows you to place the BOOST channel either before or after the OVERDRIVE channel. The BOOST channel is an extremely transparent, high-headroom, 100% JFET-powered circuit with buffered bypass, maintaining the amp's high-fidelity sound and feel whether it's on or off. Turning up the DYNAMICS knob on the BOOST channel (Fulltone's proprietary germanium diode limiter circuit) changes the feel of the sound, suppressing transient spikes that overload the amplifier input. This feature makes even a harsh amplifier feel responsive and juicy, and sweetens the high frequencies.
