This mokugyo is not only a Buddhist altar accessory, but also has been designed to produce a wonderful sound as a musical instrument. Rather than combining different pieces in pursuit of a better sound, each piece is carved from a single piece of wood and hand-carved by skilled craftsmen, making this a product that is packed with attention to detail. We have pursued a deep sound by using heavy, strong Malaysian Mersawa wood. Now called a "temple block," it is often incorporated into drum sets and used as a percussion instrument in brass bands and orchestras. ■Spec Size: 12cm (4 sun) Material: Malaysian Mersawa wood / natural finish Weight: approx. 350g Country of origin: Taiwan *This product is made of wood, so there may be individual differences in size and weight.
