This is a wonderful yarn dyed French shirt/dress weight cotton blend jacquard that was purchased as part of a deeply discounted group of French and Italian fabrics, so the savings are passed on to you! The fabric has a 2.5" horizontal repeat and the stripes run vertically. The fabric is lightweight yet almost opaque, with a cottony drape, and the wrong side looks only slightly different from the the right side. The fiber colors are black and white in a tweedy mix that comes across as gray.
