DOPHIX is a pedal brand made in Italy. DOPHIX pedals have a distinctive look and sound thanks to attention to detail from concept to final product. The product features an LED mounted on the base plate, which not only looks beautiful but also helps improve the visibility of musicians on stage. The Michelangelo combines the dynamism of a valve sound with the definition of a pedal effect. The heart of the Michelangelo is made entirely of JFET transistors, giving it a dynamic, warm sound that reproduces the effects produced by tube (valve) heads. A three-position switch allows you to select between three distortion modes: silicon, germanium, and JFET semiconductors. The choice of distortion type makes the Michelangelo very flexible, offering a full range of distortion from boost to light crunch, overdrive and the typical very defined distortion produced by valve heads. Another great feature of the Michelangelo is the inclusion of a preamp and output boost, both of which can be independently controlled and activated by a dedicated "BOOST" footswitch. There are actually two independent true bypass footswitches: DRIVE enables/disables the drive effect, and BOOST enables/disables the preamp, output boost, or both. A second toggle switch lets you choose whether the preamp is always active or only active when the BOOST footswitch is on. The preamp affects the amplitude of the input signal to the Michelangelo's amplification and distortion section, controlled by a dedicated PRE knob. This way, you have even more control over the sound you want by manipulating the preamp alone. The PRE level control ranges from 0 to 15 dB, so when PRE is at minimum the input signal remains unchanged, whereas when PRE is at maximum the input signal is amplified by 15 dB before being fed into the Michelangelo's DRIVE section. With the PRE switch set to OFF, the preamp is only active when the BOOST footswitch is on. With the PRE switch in the ON position, the preamp is active regardless of the on/off state of the BOOST footswitch. Leaving the preamp in the ON position allows very precise control over the saturation and attack level of the DRIVE sound, while setting the PRE selector to the OFF position provides a "gain increase" effect that is tied to activation of the BOOST footswitch. Michelangelo The DRIVE section has four controls: GAIN2, LEVEL, B, and M. GAIN2 defines the amount of distortion. Output volume of the LEVEL DRIVE section. B and M define the equalization of distortion by adjusting the low frequency band B and the high frequency band M. The SIL / GER / FET selector acts on the Michelangelo's DRIVE section, changing the distortion mode. The BOOST knob adjusts the output boost that is active after the BOOST foot switch is engaged. The BOOST level control operates in the range of 0 to 15 dB. When BOOST is at minimum, the output signal is unaffected and remains unchanged relative to the output level produced by DRIVE, while when BOOST is at maximum, the output signal is linearly amplified by 15 dB. Finally, another great feature that the Michelangelo offers is the BLEND control, which allows you to mix the amount of distorted and clean sound, completely varying the output signal from completely distorted to completely clean, or even your desired mix of the two sounds. DESCRIPTION It can be powered by a 006P battery or a regulated 9V DC external power supply. High-quality components, such as a true bypass switch and carbon resistors, are standard on Dofix pedals. These produce the smooth sound that is characteristic of analog-like vintage equipment, and play a major role in establishing the tone character of each pedal.
