Mel Taylor Signature Snare Drum This signature snare drum features an all-map le shell with a unique edge shape, and is based on the sound of vintage Gretsch drums, with Mel Taylor's own personal touch. Its distinctive features include a comfortable rim shot, short sustain, and tight projection. The drum used by Mel wasn't a prototype, but a commercially available drum kit with the exact same specifications, allowing for a faithful reproduction of the original sound, which is one of the reasons for its popularity.
