Designed and developed without compromise by the Wampler Pedals team over a long period of time, the Catacombs offers a total of 11 legendary and popular delay and reverb sounds. Choose from six studio-quality delay sounds from classic analog compact pedals and five classic, distinctive, and effective reverb sounds, and use them simultaneously. Additionally, tap tempo input, mono/stereo output, and an onboard routing switch allow intuitive control of series/parallel routing, making this a timeless, unparalleled, compact multi-delay/reverb pedal. A total of 128 creative sounds created by operating each control knob can be stored on the main unit, and presets can be called up using an external MIDI device or instantly selected from eight presets using the ``Preset Switch'' built into the main unit. Legendary Delays The unit comes equipped with six delay units, representing everything from classic analog compact delay pedals to rack delays still used in studio recordings today. A wide variety of delays are available, from the deep and warm Analog Delay style, to the natural and spatially harmonizing Bucket Brigade Device Delay (BBD) style, to the bold, clear, and overwhelming presence of the legendary 2290 Digital Delay, and each can be set to a long delay time of up to 2000 ms. Delay Program List ■ANLG - ANALOG STYLE DELAY This delay sound is based on the warm and smooth classic analog delay of the compact delay pedal "BOSS(R) DM2(R)" that was released in the 1980s, with Wampler's own unique improvements. ■BBD ? BUCKET BRIGADE DELAY A warm delay sound with feedback characteristic of BBD elements, inspired by the vintage Electro-Harmonix(R) Memory Man(R). ■FTE ? WAMPLER 'FAUX TAPE ECHO' Like the now-discontinued Wampler Pedals "FAUX TAPE ECHO," this delay sound has the response of a real tape delay unit, rather than simply adding a chorus effect to a digital delay circuit. ■SPC ? ECHO-SPACE DELAY Brian Wampler has combined and arranged the sounds of the legendary tape echo machines "Space Echo(R)," "Maestro(R)," and "Echoplex(R)" to create a rich delay sound with a distinctive, thick low and mid range that is created by the wow and flutter effect that occurs when magnetic tape deteriorates. ■TAPE ? MECHANICAL / TAPE DELAY This delay sound emulates the multi-head tape delay sound of the Binson(R) Echorec(R), which was used on many of rock music's greatest albums, while adding Wampler's unique filtering and saturation-style modulation effects. ■DIGITAL DELAY The TC Electronics® 2290® Dynamic Digital Delay is a classic rack-mount digital delay used in recording studios and other venues. It delivers clear, accurate, and powerful digital delay sound. Iconic Reverbs The five reverb programs range from classic analog reverb sounds to electronic, studio-quality sounds, offering a wide variety of sounds, from the warm Spring Reverb that uses the vibration of a spring unit, to Room Reverb and Hall Reverb that emulate the different reverberation sounds depending on the size of the room or venue, to the Plate Reverb, a staple in studio recordings. The even more effective and powerful "Simmer Reverb" can express a unique worldview by using an external expression pedal. Reverb Program List ■SHMR - SHIMMER REVERB A fantastical, rich ambient reverb sound that makes you feel like you're in another world. Use an external expression pedal to create a symphonic worldview. ■PLT - PLATE REVERB A bright, natural reverb sound with a fast attack that is a staple in studio recordings and is popular among guitarists. ■SPR - SPRING REVERB A twangy reverb sound that recreates spring reverb, which is created by passing an audio signal through a metal spring and generating reverb through its resonance. ■ROOM? ROOM REVERB A reverb sound that blends well with guitar sounds characterized by short, tight reverberations, such as those obtained when playing in small, enclosed spaces such as small rooms or studios. ■HALL ? HALL REVERB A spacious, grand, and dramatic reverb sound similar to that obtained when performing in a large concert hall.
