Here comes a new Challenger! 7th Acoustics, a small Indonesian brand led by Stephen Syn, focuses on the domestic market rather than the international one. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, the author got the chance to try their flagship 6BA IEM, the Supernova, after a year. The IEM impressed the author with its tonality, tuning techniques, and build quality. The Supernova's bass is sub-bass focused, with a slight tilt into the lower-midrange, while the midrange is exemplary with a natural and soulful sound. The treble response is smoothed, and the imaging is excellent. The IEM's technical performance is good, though the detail might not match some other options at its price range. Comparing it to other IEMs, the Supernova excels in transients and coherence. Despite being a gem, 7th Acoustics may find it challenging to compete in the highly competitive international market."
