Protect Your Hive from Robber Bees Keep invaders out of your hive and from stealing your colony's honey. Just install this robbing screen at the main entrance (on your bottom board) and move the metal latches to control the entry points, so robber bees are deterred from entering. Helpful Hint: Don't wait for robbers to appear! It's best to install the robbing screen before this happens. Install early in the morning or late in the evening when your honey bees are in the hive. Some folks use cords, screws, nails or tape to attach the screen (use what works best for you and your hive). FOR BEST CARE: We recommend any wooden hive component surface that is exposed to the elements to be protected with exterior primer and paint before use. Only prime and paint the outside, NEVER the inside where the bees live.
