EOD was inspired by the performances of a world-renowned guitarist who used a '57 Goldtop Les Paul and Dumble amp to create exquisite drive tones. The idea began with the question: Could we somehow recreate in a pedal the musical expressive power of that tone and feeling, achieved through the touch of his right hand and guitar volume control? Rather than simply replicating a Dumble pedal, we built multiple prototypes, had several professional musicians try them out, and made repeated improvements to closely replicate that expressive power. The distortion varies significantly more with touch than traditional overdrive pedals, allowing you to enrich the expressive power of a singing slow blues solo, or control the clean backing and crunch tones with just the strength of your right hand. The pedal responds realistically to the player's nuances. The design is simple, as if a part of the guitar has been cut out, and it has been finished with lacquer by a guitar painter, so you can enjoy the changes that occur over time, just like the guitar itself.
