Cute and cozy all winter long! This pillow features an illustration by Beatrix Potter in one of her letters sent to a child. The drawing reproduced in a lovely red on this pillow i s complemented with her signature on the back. Canvas pillow comes with a poly fill insert. Beatrix Potter often wrote personal letters to children and referenced her stories with drawings. Her illustrated letters are among the most treasured keepsakes within the Morgan Library and Museum’s collection. In this letter Potter touches on several topics including the winter weather, a pet cat, and the latest antics of Peter Rabbit. The transcription of the letter is as follows: My Peter is so lazy, he lies before the fire in a box, with a little rug. His claws grew too long, quite uncomfortable, so I tried to cut them with scissors but they were so hard that I had to use the big gardens scissors. He sat quite still and allowed me to do his little front paws but when I cut the other hind foot claws he was tickled, & kicked, very naughty.
