Models inspired by historic guitars from the Martin Museum Martin has a long history of blending tradition with innovation, making it a long-established name in the acoustic guitar world and continuing to captivate the world with its sound. From gorgeous show models to ultra-vintage models and modern models crafted from the finest woods, Martin continues to captivate guitar enthusiasts. This model is a D-18 Street Legend with an aged finish that gives it the appearance of being heavily used. The Martin Museum, located next to the Martin factory in Nazareth, was inspired by the historic guitars on display there, giving it the look of a guitar that has seen action on stage, in recording studios, and more. The original model is the D-18 STANDARD, with a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a select hardwood neck, and an ebony fingerboard—a classic combination. The sound is warm yet punchy, typical of a D-18, with the cohesive mahogany sound and the powerful tone characteristic of a dreadnought. Starting in 2025, the Standard Series has undergone a redesign, with Golden Era top bracing, a revised neck profile, a thinner fingerboard, and improved bridge and heel. This D-18 StreetLegend is also manufactured with the same new specifications. Unlike models like the Authentic Series, which pursue vintage specifications, the new specifications have been improved to create a standard model that is easy to use today. Rather than a return to vintage models, the new specifications are pursued to provide "easy-to-use, good sound" for the modern music scene, resulting in significant improvements in both sound and playability. This is an approach that only Martin, a company that can be said to represent the history of the acoustic guitar, could take.
