The history of the Tone Bender is already difficult to understand, but the Vox V828 Tone Bender, made in Jen, Italy, makes it even more complicated, and it is an instrument that ha s also been well-received for its sound. This time, we have a 1969 style unit with a black case and silver panel. There are some small scratches on the case and some fading on the front panel due to age, but overall it is in relatively good condition. The germanium transistors used are a combination of SFT337 and SFT363. The appeal is the treble-heavy, thick, roaring fuzz sound when turned up all the way. Although it's produced in greater numbers than the British SolaSound, it's becoming harder to find.
