Lightwave delivers a pure and warm sound using an infrared sensor. About 20 years ago, Lightwave Systems released an innovative pickup system that used an infrared sensor to detect string vibrations, attracting attention when it was adopted by numerous luthiers, including ZON and RITTER. By incorporating an infrared optical sensor, the magnetic field generated by conventional magnetic pickups is prevented from interfering with string vibrations, enabling even the subtlest nuances expressed by the player's fingers to be accurately read, providing the purest and most natural sound of any string instrument. Each independent bridge unit for each string has a built-in optical sensor and piezo, and is powered by a rechargeable battery. The tone controls are BASS, MID, and MID frequency settings, and an ICE TONE (piezo blend) is used instead of TREBLE. However, the piezo part on this model is probably broken, so the ICE TONE part does not function. Playing with the infrared sensor is possible. A mini switch allows you to select Warm/Cool, with Warm having a boomy sound and Cool having a character that cuts the low frequencies and emphasizes the high mids. Although there are some dents here and there, it is possible to play with some of the pickups mentioned above and produce a clear, high-quality fretless sound. There is ample room in the truss rod and the neck is in good condition. Since this item uses special parts, it will be sold as is and does not come with a used warranty. *This unit requires charging using the included dedicated AC adapter.
