The Maxon OD-808 and Maxon OD-9 are masterpiece overdrive pedals that made Nisshin Onpa Seisakusho famous. It goes without saying that they are highly acclaimed worldwide, along with the Ibanez TS-808 and TS-9, which were OEM-manufactured for export. This overdrive was produced by Maxon (Nisshin Onpa Seisakusho) from around 1979 to 1981. Guitar and pedal enthusiasts will be familiar with the fact that it was sold as the "Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer Overdrive Pro" for overseas exports and the "Maxon OD-808 Overdrive" for domestic distribution. Due to its rarity and use by popular artists, it enjoys high popularity in the vintage market, and as evidenced by the existence of reissue and clone models, as well as collectors and researchers, it reigns supreme as one of the most legendary compact effects pedals. Our latest arrival is a large case OD-808 shipped around 1980. Although there are some scratches on the case and rough areas of the paint, it is in relatively good condition considering its age. The op-amp IC is the sleek JRC4558D. The original sound and the drive blend together with a sense of overtones for a pleasing sound. This is a premium pedal packed with the sounds of classic albums.
