I was looking for a sound and feel similar to my favorite 1968 Plexi. It has a completely natural decay with no strange fiji-like artifacts whatsoever. It's very dynamic and responds well to guitar volume control and pick dynamics. You get killer sustain with ultra-low noise without relying heavily on distortion or fuzz, making it highly versatile and giving you the best sound. When I started designing the Sixty 8 Drive, I had a mountain of goals I wanted to achieve. I wanted an amp that recreated the sound and feel of my favorite 1968 Plexi 12000 series. I wanted an amp that backline players could enjoy with a sound that combined an F-style clean tone with an M-style crunch channel. I wanted an amp that was ultra-low noise, with perfectly natural sustain and decay, and absolutely no strange noises. Furthermore, it needed to be highly versatile, covering a wide range of tones from clean to heavy overdrive. And it needed to be durable enough to withstand touring. So, here's the Sixty 8. It's very dynamic and responds very well to the guitar's volume control and picking dynamics. It delivers rich sustain without the need for excessive distortion or fuzz. The gain control also functions as a shelving EQ; increasing the gain slightly attenuates the low frequencies, keeping the low end tight. The bass control is pre-clipping, designed to offset the shelving filter of the gain control. The low frequencies cut by the gain control can be added back, allowing you to adjust it to suit your equipment. Furthermore, this simulates channel jumps and bridges on a real amp, allowing you to mix in as much of the "normal" channel as you like. It's very crisp and responsive, and when you turn up the treble it gets a slightly junky sound, making it perfect for rhythm or hybrid rhythm-lead styles.True bypass Power supply: 9-18VDC center negative Current draw: 30mA @ 9VDC
