The TL'50s features flat pole pieces, a specification from the early 1950s. It reproduces a sound reminiscent of the Blackguard era Tele. It uses an Alnico 5 magnet and AWG42 plain enamel wire, and is carefully hand-wound one by one. It covers the entire guitar sound range from low to high frequencies, and produces a wide-range, dynamic sound with a glossy midrange. The neck position of a typical vintage TL guitar has a small bobbin size and often uses thin wire such as AWG43, but the Jun Tone Pickups TL 50s uses the same AWG42 as the bridge, which is wound slowly and precisely, allowing for smooth changes even when changing the pickup position.
