The preamp is equipped with two 12AX7 vacuum tubes. The GROOVE 800 head amplifier adds a tube feel to the PURE SOUND philosophy of GR products! The GR GROOVE series is a perfect bl end of classic and modern styles, combining a lightweight, compact form with incredible power, captivating you with its tube preamp sound featuring two 12AX7 tubes. The GROOVE series inherits the PURE SOUND philosophy that is the foundation of GR products, and with the unique clarity and responsive sound that only vacuum tubes can produce, it allows the powerful groove created by the player to stand out without being drowned out by the band ensemble. ● 4-band equalizer The 4-band equalizer not only lets you tweak the sound to your needs, but also lets you add punch and clarity to your equalization with the mid-band selectable from 4 different frequencies, plus the DEEP and BRIGHT filters. ●PURE switch (EQ bypass) The PURE switch, one of the GR BASS's unique features, bypasses the EQ circuit for a completely flat sound. This is a convenient feature for combining with an external equalizer or outboard preamplifier, or for amplifying instruments other than bass. (DRIVE and TONE FILTER (mid-cut) are active even in PURE mode.) DRIVE switch Turning the DRIVE switch on will give you a tube-driven sound, and depending on the position of the GAIN knob you can set it to anything from natural saturation to fat tube drive. Two AUX inputs One is a standard front-mounted input to drive the speakers. The signal input to the rear XLR IN is only output from the headphones, so you can use GROOVE as a monitor mixer by inputting the mix from the PA. The headphone output has an independent volume control, allowing it to be used as a dedicated monitoring system. GR's DIs are renowned for their high reputation and are ideal for use in professional environments such as live performances and studios. The natural drive produced by the vacuum tube is outstanding, making it easy to create a musical bass sound that blends naturally into a band ensemble.
