This instrument is a signature model of John Taylor, bassist of Duran Duran, a British rock band that remains immensely popular today as a representative band of New Romanticism. The JT-3, a new artist model based on the limited-edition Rio Dream Bass, features a lightweight nato body, a bolt-on laminate maple neck, and the distinctive Rio Eye fingerboard seen on the Rio record jacket at the 12th fret. The body color also features the same distinctive stripes, making this a special model. The electronics include a newly developed Neve onboard preamp, inspired by the Neve console used during the recording of the "Rio" album. Furthermore, the FD3n pickups, featuring powerful neodymium magnets, produce a fat yet clear sound.
