The 8-inch diameter of the wheel makes it an ideal tool for finishing and deburring. The standard 19mm spigot that comes with the wheel allows for quick and efficient switching between the contact wheel and flat platen. Additionally, the contact wheel's smaller diameter opens the belt's grain, exposing fresh grit that cannot be utilized in flat platen grinding. Details The 84 Engineering wheels start as a billet 6061 aluminium, with hubs that are CNC machined to precise tolerances before coating with polyurethane. The billet aluminium hubs are then precision ground concentrically for a smooth and vibration-free grinding experience. The surface of the wheel features an 83 Shore A durometer polyurethane polymer that is abrasion-resistant. High-quality Timken, FAG or Nachi Bearings provide excellent support, and the product comes with a 19mm spigot.
