The Japanese musical instrument cable loved by the world. Lext's latest FINAL EDITION is now complete! Lext instrument cables, whose name appears on many classic albums, are used in a variety of live shows, and continue to be loved by the world's top bassists. Even if you're not aware of Lext cables themselves, you may have unwittingly heard their sound. In 2025, 18 years after the birth of Lext Musical Instrument Cable in 2007, the latest instrument cable, the Z-LNC01FE-RJ, was completed, approximately six years after the previous model was discontinued. The sound that was developed through the tireless efforts of numerous recordings and live performances over the past six years can now finally be enjoyed in your beloved instrument. With raw material costs soaring, it has become difficult for small companies to mass-produce cables as they did back then. This may be Lext's last chance to produce cables. The Lext development team is proud to present the Final Edition RJ Cable, a dream instrument cable, with the goal of achieving a sound that will leave you with no regrets, even if it turns out to be the last instrument cable ever made! A prototype of this cable was used during the Los Angeles recording of Katsushika Trio's third album, "Organic feat. LA Strings" (released October 1, 2025), featuring Tetsuo Sakurai on bass. Tetsuo Sakurai's latest signature six-string bass was recorded with a Lext instrument cable directly connected to a custom direct box made by recording engineer virtuoso Don Murray. The mastering was done by the legendary Bernie Grundman. Be sure to check out the rich, vibrant sound of Tetsuo Sakurai on "Organic feat. LA Strings"! *Test cables are available at Bass Collection stores. Please try it out on your own instrument. I think it's great for bass in general, as well as electric acoustic guitars. *Please contact us for custom lengths.●Materials of the Rext Musical Instrument Cable Z-LNC01FE-RJ [Built-in vibration control item exclusively for Z-LNC01FE-RJ] The plug cap on the instrument side features a genuine leather vibration-damping material (same shape as the Resonance Tip GP) specifically designed for instrument cables. By incorporating this new vibration-damping material specifically designed for instrument cables, the effects on the electrical signal that previously caused sound quality degradation are neutralized. By transmitting only the actual sound emitted by the instrument, a more captivating sound than ever before is achieved. [Z-LNC01FE-RJ wire material and structure] This is the final product to use HiFC*, a high-quality conductor that is no longer in production by the manufacturer. (HiFC is a registered trademark of Proterial Co., Ltd.) While the basic structure follows that of the previous Lext model, the wire thickness has been changed, but the number of wires has been increased from 13 x 0.18mm to 30 x 0.12mm, and the twisting direction has also been reversed. The wire structure has been completely revised and fine-tuned specifically for the Final Edition cable. ● Assembly: Because assembly is complex and difficult, and directional control is important, the entire process is handled by Nishino, the representative of Lext. The plugs are made by SWITCHCRAFT and modified by LEXT. - Uses specially tuned solder - The plug joint is reinforced with a heat-shrinkable tube made specifically for Rext that has been tuned for sound quality. ● Lext's unique tuning technology, which allows for precise control of the sound quality of tuning cables, has been developed specifically for musical instrument cables. What Lext values most when developing instrument cables is "sense of pitch" and "a sound that doesn't get lost in the orchestra." The sound doesn't get lost when played with other instruments, and even though it's a bass instrument, it still has a clear pitch. That's why Lext Musical Instrument Cables continue to receive rave reviews from vocalists, who say, "They're easy to sing with!" Just because a cable is suitable for a low-pitched instrument like the bass doesn't mean it should be a cable that emphasizes the low frequencies. It needs a sound that has a real core and hits you hard. Lext understands the bassist's desire for just a little more, and that's why we were able to develop the new instrument cable, the Z-LNC01FE-RJ. ●Specifications Product name/model number: Z-LNC01FE-RJ Wire material: HiFC (HiFC is a registered trademark of Proterial Co., Ltd.)
