Bosphorus Cymbals was founded in 1996 by three cymbal makers: Ha san Seker, Ibrahim Yakici, and Hasan Ozdemir. The three are the most experienced active cymbal makers in Türkiye and are known as "masters." The three craftsmen who founded Bosphorus were close childhood friends who became cymbal makers at a very young age, and they carefully trained in every process of cymbal making, acquiring the skills. Their teachers were the masters who made legendary cymbals in the 1960s and 1970s, and they learned traditional manufacturing methods. After working at the workshop for 16 years, the three men founded their own company, but they still maintain good relationships with their former employees and continue to make cymbals to this day, with respect for their mentors from whom they learned cymbal making. The three cymbal masters continue to work together in the workshop, helping their apprentices to create perfect cymbals with their nearly 30 years of experience.
