Vintage guitars that were manufactured decades ago have consumable parts and other items that can cause problems with functionality. When parts need to be replaced, many vintage guitar users fear that the tone will change drastically. Along with the saddle, the tremolo spring is another part that likely plays an important role in creating the thick, resilient sound of a 50s and 60s Vintage Stratocaster. Current springs are often made to be stiff and have high tension, giving them a different feel than vintage springs. As a Raw Vintage Product, we studied vintage instruments and set the spring tension to a similar level, assuming that the instrument would be used with four or five springs. This resulted in a stable arm action due to the change in weight and the contraction rate of the spring, an excellent sense of torque, and a fat tone due to the increased weight. Of course, they can also be used as replacement parts for current reissue guitars, so even those who don't own vintage guitars will be able to enjoy performance that is closer to the real thing.
