The two humbucker pickups offer a wide range of tonal versatility, and the slightly heavier body w eight produces a tight, low-end tone. It produces a lo-fi sound distinct from the Stingray. Controls include master volume, treble, and bass. The mini switch controls pickup selector, phase, and bright tone, a design reminiscent of later G&L models. With its powerful and versatile sound, this bass is perfect for rock and funk alike. The body date on this guitar is faded and difficult to see, but there is a 1979 stamp along with the neck date. It has been refinished, and removing the pickguard reveals some of the original color, likely a walnut color. The controls are slightly scratchy but can be used without any problems. The output of one coil of the rear pickup is weak, but it does not have a big effect on the sound. There is still room in the truss rod, and although the frets have worn down due to sanding, there is still about 60-70% left. The neck condition is good with no major imperfections.
