In the 1980s, Marshall released the drive pedal "The Guv'nor," and in the 1990s released three successor models: "Drive Master," "Shred Master," and "Blues Breaker." The Guv'nor is a popular model that has spawned reissues since the original model was released. Its use of a red LED for clipping, a key element of the Marshall pedal sound, produced a rough yet juicy sound that garnered a lot of attention at the time. This particular example is a later model with a blue circuit board. While the casing shows signs of relatively heavy use, such as paint peeling and rust, it is in good condition. The op-amp is a Motorola TL072CP. The input jack and effect on/off switch have been replaced. The 3Q equalizer and wide distortion range are great additions to any setup.
