Passive DI box with custom transformer The P DI One is a passive single-channel DI box with a custom transformer, suitable for studio recording and live use. It is ideal for instruments with active circuits such as keyboards, drum machines, samplers, guitars and basses, and effectively suppresses hum from ground loops while maintaining the original tone of the instrument. A design 15 years in the making Passive DI boxes are often seen as dongles or adapters, but the Heritage Audio development team see them as beautiful shop window cases – even the best products need clean, clear glass to let them shine and be appreciated, and the more inconspicuous the better. After 15 years of research and development, they created their own DI box. The transparent passive signal processing developed in the RAM Monitor Controller series, especially the Baby RAM, is utilized in the clean passive design of the P DI One. The advantage of passive DI is that you forget it's there. P DI One is useful for connecting active instruments such as keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, and some guitars and basses to PA and recording systems. It converts the instrument's output level into a balanced signal that matches standard microphone levels, minimizing noise and providing a strong, clear signal. -Natural and clear tone The P DI One's passive design converts signals from high impedance to low impedance and balances them via a transformer, without the need for a power source. This transformer transmits the audio signal while blocking unwanted DC voltages and RFI. This effectively suppresses hum and buzz caused by ground loops, preserving the original tone of your instrument.Specifications: Single-channel passive DI box; Effectively eliminates hum and buzz caused by ground loops; Virtually zero phase shift or harmonic distortion; Excellent signal integrity and superior noise rejection; Custom transformer with nickel core and MU METAL shielding for optimal signal transfer while protecting against all EMI; Rugged 14-gauge enclosure; MIL-spec circuit board with full ground plane for ultra-quiet operation; Metal switches rated for over 25,000 cycles; 15dB pad; Frequency response: 20Hz to 18kHz Input impedance: Input impedance of the device connected to the output side multiplied by 144 (PAD disabled), approximately 10kΩ (PAD enabled) Ground lift switch Gold-plated input, output and through jacks Front through jack output: 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) TS Input Jack: 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) TS PAD switch: 15dB reduction before the transformer Rear output XLR: Gold-plated XLR connector (male) Ground lift switch: A ground lift mechanism that disconnects XLR pin 1 from the circuit ground
