A few years later, Derek Shimizu moved from Hawaii to Las Vegas on the US mainland, returning to his roots and crafting everything himself. He has rebuilt this fascinating lineup and is delivering instruments that are made with his soul, one by one. This is a great used instrument from the USA mainland, manufactured in 2018. While there are some signs of wear, such as scratches from playing, the stunning koa grain and sun inlay around the sound hole make these less noticeable and more pleasing to the eye. Playability is also intact, and the instrument is still perfectly playable. The sound is heavier than in Hawaii, and each note is clearly pronounced, making it a statement in any genre.
