He studied under Hiroaki Hayasaka, Masahiko Kurano, Genzo Kitamura, and Uwe Komischke. First prize in the trumpet division of the 69th Japan Music Competition, and also the Matsushita Prize. Recipient of the Aoyama Music Award in 2004. He is currently a guest principal trumpeter with the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, a contract member of the Siena Wind Orchestra, leader of the brass quintet Buzz Five, and a member of the Tokyo Trumpet Quartet and the Kyoto Trumpet Group Summer Breeze.
