A used SONIC 5-string bass, crafted by Yutaka Takeda and renowned for its high level of craftsmanship, has arrived! The original-shaped body is made of ash, and the combination of humbucker-type pickups and a Bartolini TCT preamp achieves both clear pitch definition and a thick, solid bottom end that supports the ensemble. The EQ also features a push/pull Bass control for switching between parallel and series pickups, as well as a passive switch, allowing for versatile sound shaping. Other features include angled, original separate saddles and a solid, high-quality construction, showcasing Sonic's signature attention to detail. The 3-band EQ only provides boost; turning all bands down results in no sound. This instrument was likely manufactured in the early 1990s, and as such, there are minor scratches and dents on the body and neck, traces of a pickup fence installation, and changes and additions to the end pin position. There is a sticker on the back of the headstock indicating that it was readjusted by the manufacturer in 2025. The truss rod is a bit stiff, but there is still some adjustment range. The neck condition is good, with approximately 40-50% of the frets remaining, but there are no major issues and it is currently playable without any buzzing.
