Ulrich Bass Design is a bass guitar making workshop in Germany. This brand, which also makes violins, combines traditional classical instrument-making techniques with modern design s to create high-quality, handmade instruments that reflect the philosophy of luthier Florian Hertzsch regarding sound, looks, and feel. The SAULUS DUO is designed for the modern player. Its musical and ergonomic body shape, combined with a lightweight yet stable construction, delivers a wide dynamic range, ultra-fast attack, and long sustain. The maple burl top is contrasted with wenge for the controls and fretboard, creating a stylish look. The wenge control section is magnetically attached. It features a 34-inch scale maple set neck, a 24-fret fretboard, and two Haeussel pickups. The bridge pickup is a Jazzbucker, with a mini-switch for single-coil, parallel, and series switching. The preamp features a NOLL 4-band EQ for a wide range of sound shaping. A USB port is located next to the jack, allowing for Type-C charging. It has a light, airy sound, good responsiveness, and a pleasant low end with a well-balanced center of gravity. There are some minor scratches and slight dents, but it is in excellent condition.
