2024 Martin Factory Tour - Custom Shop Wood Selection Model - The pinnacle of modern Martin guitars: the Custom Shop. Within the vast factory, only about 20 elite craftsmen (master craftsmen) with exceptional skills are allowed to work, and they complete every step of the process by hand. For this instrument, Ikebe Musical Instruments' dedicated acoustic guitar staff visited the factory and meticulously selected each piece of wood material from the highest quality stock reserved for the custom shop. This is a truly exceptional piece, crafted without any compromise. The base model is the 00-42 style, which enjoys a strong following among Martin enthusiasts. The compact and charming 12-fret joint body shape, adorned with elegant torch inlays, embodies the aesthetics of the '42 style. Combining the traditional Golden Era style look reminiscent of the pre-war era with special material selections unique to this tour, this guitar is truly worthy of being called the "ultimate masterpiece." The top is made of Carpathian spruce, and the sides and back are made of rare Madagascar rosewood, which was available as a special offer from Martin for this guitar only. We have luxuriously selected premium grade materials for both types of wood. The Carpathian spruce used for the top wood is a rare material mined in the Carpathian Mountains of Eastern Europe. It is characterized by a combination of the brilliant overtones unique to European spruce and the powerful punch of Adirondack spruce. This time, we've chosen a piece that's densely packed, with a strong wood grain pattern, and brimming with energy. It achieves both excellent balance, with clear sound from low to high frequencies, and a powerful tone. The side and back of the guitar are made of Madagascar rosewood, a material that Martin has discontinued using in both its regular models and custom orders due to its rarity. However, for this tour, only dealers who visited the site were permitted to use it in limited quantities. This carefully selected piece boasts a deep, lustrous reddish-brown color, and deliberately avoids flashy grain patterns, instead exhibiting the clean, well-balanced beauty of high-quality wood.
