The "SOUNDTANK" series, which appeared in the late 1980s, gained popularity as a compact effects pedal that used a plastic casing and offered an affordable way to easily obtain Ibanez brand effects. Currently, models like the TS-5, which was positioned as a successor to the Tube Screamer, are gaining renewed attention, along with the high regard for the original Tube Screamer. This particular unit is a TS-5, originally shipped in the mid-1990s, modified to resemble a TS-808 by the American custom pedal brand "Analogman Guitar Effects". The casing shows some scratches and signs of use, giving it a nice vintage feel. The internal parts have been modified to resemble a TS-808, and the op-amp IC has now been replaced from the original TA75558P to a JRC4558D. It boasts a juicy, moderately three-dimensional drive sound that rivals the TS-808 and early TS-9 models. *Please note that due to the nature of this vintage instrument, the switch mechanism may be loose.
