The Loma Prieta is a versatile tremolo machine featuring four tremolo patterns and sound control functions for the tremolo itself. By using the VOLUME control, which can boost the signal beyond the input level, and the GRIT control, which provides overdrive, you can achieve a "thick and full" tremolo sound reminiscent of the tremolo on vintage amplifiers or when running through a rotary speaker preamp circuit. Since earthquakes are composed of sine waves, the name is also derived from the "Loma Prieta earthquake" that occurred in California, USA in 1989. ■4 types of tremolo patterns - Sine (sine wave): The most standard, soft tremolo.・Square (square wave): An intense tremolo that alternates between peaks and flats. • Ramp Down (Descending Pattern): A sharp rise followed by a gentle descent. The accent is on the foreground. • Ramp Up (ascending pattern): Gently ascends, then sharply descends. Accent on the end. ■SHIFT/Momentary Switch to Turn on Additional Functions The footswitch on the right is a momentary switch that temporarily activates the function selected with SHIFT. SHIFT offers the following four functions: - DBL (Double the tremolo speed) - DIST (This has the same effect as maximizing GRIT control) - LoFi (Low frequencies are cut when the STYLE switch is in Harmonic mode / Effect is OFF when in Traditional mode) • TAP (TAP tempo input) ■GRIT (Feedback Distortion) Turning the GRIT control to the right adds distortion to the tremolo circuit's sound. ■STYLE Switch: The STYLE switch on the side of the unit allows you to switch between a standard tremolo (TRAD mode) and a harmonic tremolo (HARM mode). The color of the right-hand LED, which displays the tap tempo speed, changes depending on the mode. Standard mode = yellow / Harmonic mode = red ■EXP Input You can control the tremolo speed by connecting an expression pedal (sold separately/TRS cable) to the EXP terminal.
