Martin Patřičný is an artist who creates beautiful things from wood. He loves wood and talks about it in books and in the television show about A Piece of Wood from the Tree. Besides that, he is also the author of many essays and short stories. In the anthology Akord and Sparks, we included not only new stories but also older ones that the author has edited and partially reworked. The texts reflect his experiences, dreams, and ideas, processing unusual stories that often provoke, which is the author's intention, and of course, they predominantly feature relationships between people, love, eroticism, and also humor. Some stories are romantic (Salt Above Gold, The Redhead), while others have unexpected themes and conclusions (Like in Heaven); the story Robiny or Grandfathers and Girls is portrayed on the border of fantasy and reality. All the stories are united by the author's unique perspective on life, his enchantment with love and women – oh!
