Umbrella Company's HUME is a spatial effects device with an ethereal texture, born from a desire for a sound that lies between delay and reverb. It combines a gently wafting, unknown ambiance with creative control that doesn't hinder your creativity. HUME's delay sound gradually disperses, losing its definition and transforming into reverb. Just like how memories become vague over time, eventually leaving only a hazy image. By manipulating this dispersal with the F&V slider, you can access delay, reverb, and countless sounds in between. It also features FLASHBACK for reverse playback effects, an AUX function that allows for tap tempo, dynamic hold, and morphing to dramatically transform the soundstage. It supports control via CV, EXP pedal, and MIDI, and the input and output can be individually switched between mono and stereo. HUME's most distinctive parameter, F&V, controls how easily the echo spreads. You can access countless spatial effects that lie between delay and reverb. A delay that slightly blurs the contours, an echo that gives the feeling of scattered sound reflections, a reverb that diffuses while retaining a grainy texture... Between these two familiar effects, there is a wealth of sounds that no one has ever heard before. Furthermore, the FLASHBACK toggle allows you to add a reverse (reverse playback) effect to the input. This can create beautiful soundscapes, such as a sound that transitions into reverb immediately after reverse playback, like mist dissipating. The unique effects produced by F&V and FLASHBACK can be creatively controlled using three AUX modes: Tap Divide, Circulation, and Morphing. In addition to tap tempo input via the Tap Divide AUX footswitch, the TIME knob allows you to set the subdivision. This creates charming rhythmic delays and dotted delays that gradually unravel.・Circulation: Latch or momentarily hold the effect sound. The held sound will continue to move in a circular motion, or you can continue to apply a reverse effect to the original sound. Add a wavering layer to your solo playing with this dynamic sound-on-sound. Morphing allows for smooth transitions between live settings and pre-saved settings, or vice versa, enabling dramatic sound changes. It can be controlled via an AUX footswitch, EXP pedal, or CV. Morphing time is also adjustable, allowing it to be used like a preset. HUME's inputs and outputs can be individually switched between mono and stereo. In addition to being able to receive inputs from stereo equipment such as synthesizers, it also supports mono IN/stereo OUT settings. HUME can also be controlled via MIDI. It supports tempo synchronization using MIDI Clock, preset saving/recall via PC messages, and parameter changes via CC messages.
