TS-style bass overdrive Blumes is an overdrive pedal developed for bass, based on EQD's top-selling Plumes (TS-style overdrive). It produces clearer bass tones than Plumes, has better articulation, and a faster response, making it suitable for bassists of all styles. The basic tone itself is unchanged from Plumes, but the gain has been doubled. At low gain settings, you can get the popular crunch of Plumes, and from 12 o'clock onwards it enters the high-gain range that is well-suited to bass tones. Furthermore, the use of a bipolar power supply creates even higher headroom, enabling the clear and wide dynamic range that bassists demand. Although it is an overdrive pedal for bass, it can also be used by guitarists seeking a modern sound for down-tuned or multi-string guitars. Gain: Sets the amount of distortion. Tone: Turning it to the left produces bass, turning it towards the center produces midrange, and turning it to the right produces treble. Level: Output setting. To make the output the same as the input signal, set it between the 10 and 12 o'clock positions, but this will also vary depending on the type of diode selected. Clipping mode (toggle switch) Symmetrical LED clipping - results in more distortion and a compressed sound. No clipping - Open OpAmp distortion, perfect for clean boost. Asymmetrical silicon diode clipping - produces a soft distortion with a transparent feel. In this mode, the original sound is mixed into the output sound.
