In honor of Pearl's founding year, 1946, only 1,946 units of the "M-1946 50th Anniversary Limited Production" were produced worldwide. Of those, only 300 units were allocated to Japan. This commemorative model, released in 39 countries worldwide, truly symbolizes Pearl's history. The shell is made of 7.5mm thick, one-piece maple. Unlike the standard Custom Classic, it also uses maple reinforcement, resulting in a very elaborate construction. This guitar boasts a rich resonance and quick response thanks to its one-piece maple construction, offering a vintage-like warmth while maintaining a solid attack and crisp note response. The parts feature a luxurious 24K gold plating. Gold parts are used throughout, including the tubular lugs, strainer, and tension bolts. Furthermore, it features special specifications that set it apart from the regular model, such as the use of engraved solid steel hoops. The combination of the beautiful black mist-colored shell and gold parts is also very beautiful, resulting in a classic look with an overwhelming presence. Furthermore, the inside of the shell contains a certificate of authenticity exclusive to the 50th anniversary model, where you can see the inscription "Serial No. 0788 / MADE IN JAPAN". The certificate bears the signatures of Pearl's founder, Katsumi Yanagisawa, and his eldest son, Mitsuo Yanagisawa, who later served as president, further enhancing the special feel of this 50th-anniversary model. More than just a "limited edition model," this snare drum is a truly monumental piece, embodying the drum manufacturing know-how and craftsmanship that Pearl has cultivated over 50 years.
