This is an exciting new addition to EOS, eco-friendly and high-performing recycled chito athletic knit. The weight is highly versatile, a lighter medium weight and drapey but with substance. It is made from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles combined with biomass from crustaceans to create a naturally anti-microbial, odor-resistant and moisture wicking material that feels soft and breathable. 7 plastic bottles were diverted from the waste stream for each meter of this fabric! Chitosante fabric requires only 1/3 the energy of traditional polyester manufacturing processes and the supply chain requires no pesticides or herbicides. Darker colors of this fabric are rated UPF 50+, and though lighter colors like this will result in lower UPF it will still provide great protection. It has 50% stretch in both directions with excellent recovery and is opaque when not overstretched. The quality of the fabric is excellent and has many applications. This one is a pretty periwinkle (PANTONE 18-3930 is close).
